El campo de La Manga Club ha acogido a los 17 equipos participantes en la vigésimo octava edición del Campeonato de Europa Absoluto Femenino por Equipos, que a partir de mañana y hasta el día 10 de julio se celebrará en las instalaciones del prestigioso campo murciano. El Consejero de Cultura y Turismo de la Región de Murcia, Pedro Alberto Cruz Sánchez, ha apoyado el torneo con su presencia en la brillante ceremonia de inauguración de la prueba, por la que han desfilado las 102 jugadoras participantes.
El cuadro español, encabezado por la capitana Macarena Campomanes, desfiló en última posición, como dicta el protocolo. Una navarra, Carlota Ciganda; dos catalanas, Elia Folch y Mireia Prat; una gallega, Marta Silva; una donostiarra, Ane Urchegui; y una madrileña, Adriana Zwanck; son las encargadas de obtener el título, tal y como ocurrió en 1995, 2003, 2005 o en 2007.
Junto a Pedro Alberto Cruz Sánchez, siguieron la ceremonia el Presidente de la Real Federación Española de Golf, Gonzaga Escauriaza, el Presidente de la Federación Murciana de Golf, José Jover, y el Director General de La Manga Club, Julio Delgado.
La Manga Club, sede de importantes torneos de carácter profesional y amateur a lo largo de su brillante historia, alberga una prueba en la que también buscarán el triunfo Austria, Bélgica, Dinamarca, Inglaterra, Finlandia, Francia, Alemania, Islandia, Irlanda, Italia, Holanda, Noruega, Escocia, Suecia, Suiza y Gales.

Un pasodoble para recibir a los equipos foráneos. Un clásico pasodoble acompañó la salida del cuadro anfitrión en el que fue el momento estelar de la tarde.
El torneo, en números. 17 equipos, 102 jugadoras, 28 ediciones disputadas, 5 jornadas de golf por delante y un trofeo.
El campo de La Manga Club, espectacular. El trabajo del greenkeeper de La Manga Club, Cosme Bergareche, y de su equipo es inmejorable. Días después de la celebración del Campeonato de España Infantil REALE, el estado del campo Sur es inmejorable.
Este martes, día 6, primera jornada de juego. Tanto ésta como la segunda se disputarán mediante el formato Stroke Play. ¡Sólo los ocho equipos mejor clasificados podrán optar al título!

Opening ceremony attended by the Region of Murcia Minister of Culture and Tourism
The courses at La Manga Club have welcomed the 17 teams taking part in the twenty-eighth edition of the European Ladies Team Championship, which will be taking place at the prestigious Murcian golf resort between tomorrow and July 10th. The Minister of Culture and Tourism for the Region of Murcia, Pedro Alberto Cruz Sánchez, offered his support for the tournament, attending the brilliant opening ceremony which saw a parade of all 102 golfers taking part in the tournament.
As required by protocol, the Spanish team, headed up by captain Macarena Campomanes, paraded in last position. Here to win the title for Spain, as happened previously in 1995, 2003, 2005 and 2007, are Carlota Ciganda from Navarra, Elia Folch and Mireia Prat from Catalonia, Marta Silva from Galicia, Ane Urchegui from San Sebastián and Adriana Zwanck from Madrid.
Also attending the ceremony, alongside Pedro Alberto Cruz Sánchez, were the president of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, Gonzaga Escauriaza, the president of the Royal Murcian Golf Federation, José Jover, and the Managing Director of La Manga Club, Julio Delgado.
La Manga Club, which has played host to a number of major professional and amateur tournaments over its brilliant history, is home this year to a tournament in which Austria, Belgium, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Wales will also be seeking victory.

A paso doble welcomes the foreign teams. A classic paso doble accompanied the host team during what was the highlight of the afternoon.

Tuesday July 6th, first day’s play. The format for both the first and second day will be Stroke Play. Only the top eight teams will make the cut for a chance at the title.
